Klobuchar tracker: Super Tuesday scramble in southern states
Stumping in the South: Sen. Amy Klobuchar is spending today and Saturday scrambling across the Super Tuesday states of North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Meanwhile, Klobuchar seems to be on track for sixth-place finish in South Carolina’s Saturday primary, based on some of the latest polls. A Monmouth University survey shows former vice president Joe Biden 20 points ahead of Democratic frontrunner, Sen. Bernie Sanders.

The latest from the campaign
Fox News town hall: Calling for a "return to sanity" in foreign and domestic policy, Klobuchar came out swinging at both President Trump and Sanders. She took the Trump administration to task for its coronavirus response and ripped the cost of several of Sanders’ proposals during a Fox News town hall even that aired Thursday night.
Klobuchar’s prosecutorial past: Amy Klobuchar is running for president on her record of bipartisan initiatives in the Senate and her years as the chief prosecutor in Hennepin County more than a decade ago. But the national media spotlight on her time as Hennepin County Attorney has not always been flattering, with civil rights activists questioning the prosecution of a black teenager in a notorious Minneapolis child slaying and a series of 30 police-involved deaths without a single prosecution. Both issues have put her on the defensive in an age of strained police relations in minority communities, particularly as she ramps up a national campaign and seeks the support of black voters in states like South Carolina.
Minnesota polling
Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar leads Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in a new Star Tribune/MPR News Minnesota Poll as the state’s March 3 presidential primary nears, with both well ahead of their nearest Democratic rivals. But many Minnesota Democrats say they are still undecided in a contest that has become increasingly muddled as it spreads to more U.S. states. Minnesota’s primary is on Super Tuesday, when 14 states will award a third of all the delegates in the race.

Major political endorsements
Klobuchar has secured campaign endorsements from several high-profile Minnesota politicians, including Gov. Tim Walz, four members of Congress and former Vice President Walter Mondale. She has the backing of just one member of Congress outside the Minnesota delegation: California U.S. Rep. Linda Sanchez.
According to the website FiveThirtyEight, which tracks major political endorsements, Klobuchar sits in the middle of the pack when counting endorsements from party leaders, governors, state officials, members of Congress and mayors of large cities.
