For the past 64 years, summer on St. Paul's East Side has been synonymous with the Dari-ette. Owner Angela Fida's parents, John and Lois, met and fell in love while working at the venerable Italian-American hangout — John's folks built the place — and they handed control to their daughter in 1998. Never been? The meatball sub is a must. Ditto the towering third-pound Burger-ette, and the nostalgia-inducing crème de menthe shakes. 1440 E. Minnehaha Av., St. Paul, 651-776-3470.
