The corrugated steel corn crib looks out of place among the warehouses in an industrial district north of University Avenue, but the only grain in this bin is used to make beer, because this is the home of Bang Brewing. The space feels bigger inside than it looks from outside, but it is intimate; the taproom is right in the brewery. The bar rolls out of the way when there is work to be done. The collection of well-made beers focuses on drinkability — there is nothing "out there" or over the top here. Owners Sandy and Jay Boss Febbo are usually tending bar, and you won't find more genuinely nice barkeeps anywhere else in the metro. 2320 Capp Rd., St. Paul; 651-243-2264; bangbrewing.com
