Bethel's Brandon Carr was a first-team selection on the D3football.com All-America team, announced Monday.

Seven MIAC players were named to the team, with Carr the lone first-team pick. The senior safety from Fergus Falls, Minn., had 69 tackles and a team-high eight interceptions in helping the Royals go 12-2 and advance to the NCAA Division III semifinals, where they lost to Mount Union.

St. John's defensive tackle Nick Gunderson and Augsburg wide receiver Royce Winford were second-team selections. Gunderson led the Johnnies with 15 tackles for loss, and Winford set an Auggies single-season record with 16 receiving touchdowns.

St. Olaf's wide receiver Horace Gant was a third-team choice, the first Oles player to be named to the D3football.com All-America team in the nine-year history of the award.

Center Andrew Salvato of St. John's, receiver P.J. Theisen of St. Thomas and tackle Grant Weller of Concordia (Moorhead) were named honorable mention.
