Playing career: From the Boston area, Falvey pitched for Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., before graduating in 2005 with a degree in economics.
New wave: Analytics are key, and Falvey became known for his analytical process while working his way up the Indians player development pipeline. He was part of a player development panel at the 2013 Society for American Baseball Research analytics conference.
Connections: Worked under Mark Shapiro, who left Cleveland and now is president and CEO of the Blue Jays. Current Milwaukee GM David Stearns worked with Falvey when they were directors of baseball operations for Cleveland.
