After last year's winter that wasn't, there's a growing mob of angry Minnesotans who want an old-fashioned Minnesota winter. One that actually has snow and ice covering all of our beautiful 10,000 lakes. Don't get me wrong, last winter wasn't bad. A person could get used to very little shoveling and shivering, but then again we could also move to Kansas City.
Dang it, we have a reputation to uphold! We live in the land of ice and snow, for gosh sakes. We skate on lakes and build ice castles, for fun. If we don't start getting some real winter around here, well I'll just turn this Zamboni around.
Folks along the international border are waking up to a fresh pile of white gold today from a storm system that swung and missed everyone else. Wind-whipped flakes develop this afternoon with falling temps late. Another Arctic front arrives Tuesday evening with a coating of snow and even colder temps. Windchills go subzero Wednesday and won't get above zero until Friday. Now that's what I'm talking about. Nose-hair freezing kind of weather!
