Preview: The Timberwolves shot 37.5 percent, made just two of 17 three-point attempts and were playing without Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love in their opener against Sacramento. And they won by 12. Saturday, coach Rick Adelman said he loved the shots his team got and that they will eventually fall. Meanwhile, the Wolves will continue to rely on depth and defense while their stars mend. The bench scored half of Friday's points and provided much of the defensive energy. Toronto is 0-2 after losing in the first-ever game at Brooklyn 107-100 on Saturday night.
Players to watch: Wolves G J.J. Barea had 21 points and five assists in 27 1/2 minutes of play off the bench Friday. Backup C Greg Stiemsma had nine points, seven rebounds and four blocks in 16 minutes. ... Raptors G Kyle Lowry is averaging 24.5 points through two games. F/C Andrea Bargnani had 31 points in the Raptors' victory over the Wolves last season in Toronto.
Did you know: The Wolves are 3-14 in Toronto, having lost their past eight games.
Injuries: Love (broken hand) and Rubio (knee surgery) are out for the opening weeks of the season. G Luke Ridnour's minutes were limited Friday not because of his back but because of the play of Barea. Other than Love and Rubio, everybody practiced Saturday. The Raptors report no injuries.
