There are no direct flights from Minneapolis to Scotland, but Icelandair connects through Reykjavik to Glasgow, the largest city, and Aberdeen, the third-largest. We flew into the former and returned from the latter, and got around by train, car and ferry. On the way home we added three expensive but fun days in Reykjavik, courtesy of the airline's free Iceland stopover.
