A child pornography trial for a man named as a "person of interest" in the abduction of Jacob Wetterling has been rescheduled to a later date.

U.S. District Judge John Tunheim has ordered that Danny James Heinrich's trial on 25 charges of possessing and receiving child pornography be scheduled for Oct. 11 instead of its original date of July 11.

Tunheim also granted Heinrich's attorneys more time to object to a magistrate judge's recommendations that the trial be held in Minnesota and that certain statements and evidence be admitted at trial.

Heinrich's attorneys had asked that the trial be moved, arguing that he would not be able to get a fair trial in Minnesota because prosecutors publicly labeled him as a person of interest in the Wetterling case, resulting in extensive media coverage.

Heinrich, 53, of Annandale, Minn. has pleaded not guilty to the child pornography charges, which are unrelated to the Wetterling case. Heinrich has denied any involvement in Wetterling's abduction.
