Wayzata has been one of the state's best boys soccer teams all season. It showed why Tuesday night: depth and defense.

The Trojans' two leading scorers netted goals in each half in support of a stellar defense in a 5-0 victory over St. Michael-Albertville in the Class 3A boys soccer state tournament quarterfinals at Kuhlman Stadium in Edina. The game was halted because of lightning with 13 minutes remaining and ruled final.

Junior Aiden Judickas got the No. 2-ranked Trojans (18-0-2) rolling early. He scored his 12th goal of the season on a pass from senior Jackson Widman in the fourth minute.

Senior forward Lassi Koivukangas scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season before the game was 20 minutes old, giving the Trojans a 2-0 lead. He scored on a spinning kick after taking a pass from senior midfielder Miles Redmond.

Koivukangas and Judickas changed the order of their second-half goals, doubling the Trojans' lead to 4-0. Sophomore midfielder Coby Shtulman capped the scoring.

Wayzata didn't allow the Knights a shot in the opening half while recording its 15th shutout of the season. The Trojans have yielded only six goals this season.

Wayzata beat the Knights (9-11-0) twice during the regular season, 3-0 and 1-0.

Class 3A

Park of Cottage Grove 1, Minnetonka 0: Senior defender Brayden Kortus scored on a header off a free kick by senior midfielder Noah Haupt with 5 minutes, 9 seconds remaining as the Wolfpack (12-7-0) upset the No. 5 Skippers (14-2-3).

Woodbury 6, New Prague 0: The 10th-ranked Royals (14-2-3) were dominant in eliminating the Trojans (13-5-2), scoring three times in the first 25 minutes. Senior forward Gianluca Jones, junior midfielder Olin Franzwa and junior defender Noah Hruby scored for Woodbury in the first half, and Jones scored again later. Sophomore defender Landin Reilly wrapped up the scoring with a pair of late goals.

Class 2A

Hill-Murray 6, Mahtomedi 2: The No. 3 Pioneers (15-3-2) scored five second-half goals to rout the Zephyrs (10-8-1), winning by the same score as in their regular-season matchup. Seniors forward Davinsly Pearcy and midfielder Jacob Dinzeo each scored twice in the second half for the Pioneers. Senior midfielder Wilfredo Vargas got the Pioneers off to a quick start as rain fell in White Bear Lake. His blast from 30 yards bounced off the bottom of the crossbar and into the net for his 14th goal of the season in the fourth minute. Senior forward Ronan O'Connor scored Hill-Murray's other goal. Junior forward Mason Kipp and senior defender Ben Carlson scored for Mahtomedi.

Orono 1, Northfield 0 (OT): Sophomore Tiernan Bonner scored the golden goal in the 82nd minute as the No. 2 Spartans (16-1-2) avoided an upset bid by the Raiders (9-8-0). Bonner scored into the far side of the net after taking a centering pass from senior Lisle Cherwien.

Class 1A

Holy Family 2, Cristo Rey Jesuit 1: Junior forward Henry Lisko scored in each half as the No. 3 Fire (13-3-3) edged the Pumas (11-5-3). Sophomore midfielder Mauricio Ramirez Sanchez scored in the 75th minute for Cristo Rey Jesuit.
