The girls basketball player who raised her stock as much as anybody during the state tournament, Albany 6-3 junior center Alyssa Sand, has come off the recruiting board.
Sand recently announced her commitment via Twitter to coach Ruth Sinn and the University of St. Thomas.
"I would like to thank all my friends, family, coaches, lifting coach, teammates and especially my parents who have helped me out along the way!!" her post read.
Sand had 29 points, 21 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots in a 74-60 loss to Providence Academy in the Class 2A championship game. She went 9-for-15 from the floor and 11-for-14 from the free-throw line.
Albany finished the season 30-2.

Vikings playoff game vs. Rams moved to Arizona because of wildfires in Los Angeles
The Vikings' NFL playoff game Monday night against the Rams has been relocated to Glendale, Ariz., because of multiple wildfires that are burning out of control in the Los Angeles area.
Souhan: Instead of stewing in your fears, open your eyes. Vikings' path to Super Bowl remains clear.
Those other times when things went wrong — we're talking four Super Bowl losses plus 1998, 2000, 2009 and 2017 — weren't solid opportunities. This time, the NFC playoff field is flawed.
Scoggins: Darnold sounds calm and confident. Will he seem that way Monday?
About a week separated his best from his worst, and we can't claim to know which of those the Rams will see.
Vikings see parallels, draw inspiration from Rams' Super Bowl run in 2021
A crushing loss to a prominent rival ended the regular season in each case. Los Angeles regrouped successfully, and some of those involved, including coach Kevin O'Connell, are now with the Vikings.
