Kelly Molitor is a senior forward on the Lakeville South girls' soccer team. She has been a member of the varsity squad since her freshman year.
Here is a closer look at Molitor:
The best movie I've seen in the past year? "The Hunger Games!"
Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Giggly; motherly; sensitive.
Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Boyfriend" by Justin Bieber; "Into Your Arms" by The Maine; "Do The John Wall" by Troop 41.
Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why?
SoccerGrlProbs. The tweets are everything and anything a soccer player knows.
What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Scoring my first goal as a freshman and being almost tackled to the ground by the whole team. Not because we had just gotten a point, but because they were so excited for me to have scored my first goal on varsity.
At my first varsity practice, I felt ... intimidated, being a freshman and being pulled up halfway through the season.
What did you work on in the offseason? We have really stressed that the girls be in great shape, with running every day.
What were your goals entering the 2012 soccer season? As an athlete my goal is to have a part in a goal every game and improve with every game. Being captain, I have a goal to push the girls to never give up and to have them believe in themselves.
I know I have an edge on an opponent when ... they begin to get mad at me and pushing me around. I stay calm and they get more mad, and I end up receiving a foul.
What is your favorite meal prior to a game? Peanut butter M&Ms, pretzels and grapes.
Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? Lakeville North. They are the other half of the town and there is controversy on who's better, even though it is obvious ... SOUTH!
If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? Politics. Sometimes it feels as though there can be favoritism within sports. It's inevitable because we are all human, but it is hard.
How did you balance school and sports during the year? I do the best I can. It is nice having close friends on the team with the same classes. We are able to help each other on the way to games or even talk about it during stretches.
What is the best sports advice you ever received? My older brother told my that I need to give every game my all, and even if I am tired I need to dig down deep. He said, "It is your senior year. You do not want to look back with any regrets."
Do you have a secret talent -- and if so, what is it? Dance. If I didn't play soccer, I would be a hard-core dancer and not have it as just an extra thing I love.
In 10 years, I hope I'm ... out of college and working as a physical therapist or psychologist. I hope to be playing on a women's soccer team as well.
