Letzig regains lead at Ocean Hammock Even after two bogeys wiped out his cushion Saturday in the Ginn sur Mer Classic at Palm Coast, Fla., Ryan Palmer continued to play aggressively until he no longer had any lead at all.

Palmer drove into the water on the par-5 18th, turning the lead over to rookie Michael Letzig at the Ginn Ocean Hammock Resort. Letzig birdied three of his last six holes for a 2-under 70, giving him a one-shot lead going into the final round. Letzig was one shot ahead of Kenneth Ferrie (67), John Huston (70) and Palmer (72).

LPGA Tour: In-Kyung Kim sank a 45-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a 3-under 69 that gave her a one-shot lead after the second round of the Kolon Championship in Incheon, South Korea. She leads Hee-Won Han of South Korea (69) and Karen Stupples of England (70), who had four birdies in her opening 10 holes.

Champions Tour: Heavy rains forced the postponement of the third round of the Charles Schwab Cup in Sonoma, Calif. Andy Bean leads John Cook by two strokes.

Baseball: CC Sabathia, the prize pitcher on this year's market, filed for free agency Saturday. Sabathia was acquired by Milwaukee from Cleveland on July 7, then went 11-2 with seven complete games, three shutouts and a 1.65 ERA in 17 starts to help the Brewers make the playoffs for the first time since 1982. Overall, Sabathia, 28, a lefthander was 17-10 with a 2.70 ERA for the Indians and Brewers.

Auto racing: Home-crowd favorite Felipe Massa won the pole in Sao Paulo for the decisive Brazilian Grand Prix today, increasing his chances of overtaking Lewis Hamilton for the Formula One title. ...
