REBELS SEIZE WEAPONS DEPOT

Rebels in Libya's Nafusa Mountains seized a weapons depot after a short battle with troops loyal to Moammar Gadhafi, taking control of many tons of arms in the latest of a string of opposition victories in the country's west. At least two rebels were killed in the fighting. Long convoys of trucks could be seen streaming across the desert to the site after the fighting. They were loaded with rockets, ammunition and assault rifles before heading back to rebel-held cities.

BAHRAIN

SAUDI FORCES WILL LEAVE

Saudi Arabia will withdraw most of its 1,200 troops from neighboring Bahrain by next week after a three-month mission to quell an uprising against the monarchy there, a Saudi official said. Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifah asked for help from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in mid-March to end demonstrations against the governing Sunni elite. Most Bahrainis are Shiite.
