Leaders looking to build on succces

Preview: The Lynx, after sending four players to the All-Star Game, look to keep building on what is already the best start in franchise history (16-2). Minnesota has won three in a row since losing to Chicago on July 8. This is the second of three meetings between the Lynx and Liberty (10-9) this season. In the first, Minnesota made nine of its 21 three-point attempts. This is the start of a five-game road trip for New York.

Players to watch: Lynx C Sylvia Fowles, reigning Western Conference Player of the Week, had a relatively subpar game in the Lynx's first contest against the Liberty, when she scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. She should match up against Tina Charles, who is second in the WNBA in points per game (20.5) and is the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week. She leads the league in shot attempts at 17.5 per game.

By the numbers: The Liberty has held opponents to the lowest field goal percentage in the league (40.3), but Minnesota scores the most points per game of any WNBA team (87.6).

Injuries: The Lynx report no injuries. Liberty point guard Brittany Boyd is out because of a torn left Achilles' tendon.
