Minnesota Aurora remained unbeaten with a 3-1 victory over second-place Chicago City SC on Sunday.
The Aurora (6-0) scored three times in the first half in the road game to remain atop the USL W League Heartland Division.
Makenzie Langdok, a defender starting at midfield in this game, scored in the 20th minute following a free kick from Abby Oestrem. Mariah Nguyen soon made it 2-0, and after Chicago cut its deficit to 2-1 in the 34th minute on a goal by Sophia Jaime, Hannah Adler restored the two-goal lead by scoring shortly before halftime.
Adler now has six goals this season and is tied with Maya Hansen for first on the team.
"We had some of our best moments of the season today," Aurora coach Nicole Lukic said. "Chicago City played a good match and forced us to be better. It was fun to watch our creativity in the final third. It was a good team win."
The Aurora return home to face Green Bay on Wednesday at TCO Stadium.
