The Minnesota National Guard announced Thursday that 39 soldiers from the Brooklyn Park-based headquarters' 347th Regional Support Group will be deployed to multiple locations in Kuwait in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel in coming weeks.
Unit members will assist in base operations support and security at both Camp Arifjan and Camp Buehring in Kuwait. The deployment is expected to last nine months, the Guard said.
The soldiers come from 28 cities across Minnesota, ranging from Le Center in the south to Thief River Falls in the northwest, the Guard said.
