So the allure of Monday night's division encounter with Cleveland was the opportunity for the Twins to sock it to a quality club.

In the second inning, McCusker might have set a record for the farthest distance traveled by a bat slipping out of a hitter's hands. It occurred on "Bark at the Park" night, where soggy doggies were treated to two rain delays as a second Twins-Guardians game this season was influenced by botched weather management.

The Twins, thanks to an RBI double by Willi Castro, led 2-1 through three innings when the game was called at about 9:10 p.m. after play resumed for all of 14 minutes following the initial 61-minute delay.

Monday's game will resume Tuesday at 5:10 p.m. The regularly scheduled game will start about 30 minutes after the first game is concluded.

Fans who attended Monday's game will be eligible for a voucher for a future game.

The Guardians scored on an RBI double by Kyle Manzardo in the first inning against Twins starter Bailey Ober.

Ryan Jeffers singled off Guardians starter Logan Allen and scored on a base hit by Ty France as the Twins tied it in the bottom half.

Harrison Bader scored from first on a double by Castro to put the Twins up a run in the second before lightning led to a one-hour delay. The teams finished the second and played a scoreless third before more rain led to the suspension.

Guardians righthander Gavin Williams (3-2, 4.29) was Tuesday's scheduled starter against Twins righthander Chris Paddack (2-3, 4.05).
