Opens Friday: This spy spoof (rated R for some language and sexual material) is yet another in the ongoing series of movies in which Johnny Depp plays a cartoon. Here he's "international terrorist, debonair art dealer and part-time rogue" Charlie Mortdecai, who is racing to recover a stolen painting rumored to be connected to lost Nazi treasure. The trailer has "Austin Powers"-like pretensions, but the fact that "Mortdecai" isn't being screened for critics implies it doesn't approach even those semi-lofty heights. Director David Koepp (of "Secret Window," an underrated Depp gem from 2004) got Paul Bettany, Ewan McGregor, Gwyneth Paltrow and Olivia Munn to gamely pitch in. Check back later for a review.
