A baby girl just 16 days old was found dead Tuesday in a Brooklyn Park apartment, while her mother awaits charges.
Officers arrested the baby's 30-year-old mother for child endangerment after they arrived at the Willows Apartment complex on the 6500 block of 67th Avenue N., said Brooklyn Park Deputy Chief Mark Bruley.
Police were called to the building about 4:10 p.m. on a medical situation. According to scanner audio, police were called for "a newborn not breathing."
Officers found the baby unconscious in an apartment and the mother stated that the girl was dead. Resuscitation efforts were attempted for approximately 40 minutes, Bruley said.
