The Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Timberwolves at Target Center on Friday night, 119-116. But that wasn't the worst thing to happen to the team that night.
The Thunder flew to Chicago after the game, and upon arrival at Midway Airport, players saw this after getting off their plane:
The Thunder's Steven Adams took to Twitter, appealing to NASA, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye the Science Guy for an explanation:
Delta Air Lines, in a statement, said the Boeing 757 likely struck a bird while descending into Chicago. The plane landed safely, and no one was hurt.
A team official told ESPN that the flight was a little rough, but not out of the ordinary.
The Thunder plays the Bulls on Saturday night.
