A 24-year-old man from Sioux Falls, S.D., died early Saturday in a head-on crash in Pipestone County, in southwestern Minnesota.
The man, whose name has not been released, was driving south on Hwy. 23 around 2:30 a.m. when a northbound Chevrolet pickup crossed the centerline and struck his Ford Mustang, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The southbound driver, a 21-year-old man from Brookings, S.D., was seriously injured, the patrol said. He was not wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was detected on his breath, according to the patrol.
A 22-year-old woman from Sioux Falls who was a passenger in the Mustang was seriously injured.
The two surviving victims were taken to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
