One person was shot and killed in Alexandria, Minn., on Tuesday by undercover Bureau of Criminal Apprehension officers during an investigation into the solicitation of minors, authorities said.
Details were scarce on the incident, which happened Tuesday afternoon in the 300 block of 4th Avenue E., according to the Alexandria Police Department. During the undercover operation, two BCA agents fired their weapons, and one person was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were hurt. The suspect has not been identified pending notification of family.
Agencies supporting the operation included the Alexandria Police Department, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the West Central Drug and Violent Crime Task Force. At the request of the BCA, the St. Paul Police Department will investigate the shooting.
