An SUV struck and killed a 70-year-old Minneapolis man as he walked across a highway Saturday night in Plymouth, authorities said.
The man, who is believed to have been drinking, was crossing Hwy. 55 at South Shore Drive when a Subaru Forester, headed east with a green light, struck him around 8:20 p.m., the city's Public Safety Department said. He was not in a crosswalk.
The SUV's driver and passenger were not injured, authorities said.
The dead man's identity was expected to be released Monday.
