Maplewood police have arrested a St. Paul woman on suspicion of murder after a hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian and injured another Wednesday night.

Police said the crash followed an escalating feud between two groups of people. It was reported about 9:20 p.m. near the intersection of East Larpenteur Avenue and Dieter Street, said Lt. Joe Steiner.

The victim was identified by police and her family as Zakirrah "Ziggy" Laniyah Cheyan Anderson, 23, of Minneapolis.

"Innocent, had nothing to do with anything," said Anderson's aunt, Shonda Anderson. "And now she's gone."

A 22-year-old St. Paul woman suffered minor injuries.

The 34-year-old suspect was found Thursday morning in St. Paul and was in jailed in Ramsey County on suspicion of second-degree murder.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was helping with the investigation.
