DULUTH – Five people, including two juveniles and an adult suspect, have been found dead from gunshot wounds in two Duluth homes Thursday.
It's unclear how the incident unfolded, but Duluth police said late Thursday the incident is still under investigation and more information would be released at a news conference Friday.
Police initially reported Thursday afternoon that two people – a 47-year-old woman and a juvenile – were found dead in a home on the 6000 block of Tacony Street.
Hours later, police said in a statement that officers identified a suspect – a 46-year-old male – and surrounded his home on the 4400 block of W. 6th Street. Upon entering the home, police located three people dead: the suspect, a 45-year-old female and another juvenile.
The individuals were known to each other and there is no present threat to the public, police said.
Officer Mattie Hjelseth, a spokeswoman for the Police Department, said the ages of the juveniles were not being released at this time.
Neighbors to the home on Tacony Street said a woman lives at the house with her teenage son and they kept to themselves.
Officers at the scene said the shootings are not related to a three-day string of burglaries on the east side of Duluth.
