The body of a St. Cloud kayaker who went missing last week in the Mississippi River has been found, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office said.
Donald Richard Worden's body was recovered Friday evening after a boater spotted it near the St. Germain Street bridge (also called Veterans Bridge) in St. Cloud, the Sheriff's Office said Saturday in a news release.
Worden, 39, had been missing since Wednesday when his empty, overturned dark red kayak was seen near St. Cloud Hospital.
Worden had been paddling from Sartell's Holiday Stationstore to Munsinger Gardens in St. Cloud, about 6 miles to the south, according to the Sheriff's Office.
His cause of death has not yet been determined.
The Sheriff's Office and St. Cloud Fire Department worked together on the recovery, the release said.
