A woman was killed Monday morning when a semitrailer truck failed to stop at an intersection in rural Stearns County and broadsided her SUV.
The woman, 30, who was five months pregnant, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where she died.
The driver of the semi, Corey William Planck, 46, of Star City, Ind., was not injured.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, Planck was driving northeast on County Road 133 toward Sartell, Minn. At the same time, the woman driving a 2017 Subaru Forrester was heading southeast on County Road 4 toward St. Cloud.
Just before 8 a.m., the victim had stopped at a stop sign and was proceeding to go through the intersection when Planck failed to stop at his stop sign and struck her vehicle on the passenger side. He later told authorities that he didn't see the stop sign.
The Sheriff's Office is investigating.
