Title game: The Spartans, led by Steve Christoff, who later would play for the 1980 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic team, lost 4-3 in the 1976 championship game to Grand Rapids.
Swan song: Reached the final one-class tourney in 1991.
Alums who played in the NHL: Brett Hauer, Damian Rhodes, Darby Hendrickson and Christoff.
Team USA members: Christoff (1980), Tim Thomas (1984), Hauer and Hendrickson (both in 1994).
