The St. Paul Saints hit five homers in a 9-8 victory over the Columbus Clippers on Wednesday night before a crowd of 5,376 at CHS Field.
Drew Maggi's two-run blast — the fifth of those long balls — broke a 7-all tie in the eighth inning.
The Clippers scored one run in the top of the ninth.
Brent Rooker, who had three homers the night before, hit his 18th homer and also had a sacrifice fly for two RBI. Jimmy Kerrigan had a two-run homer and Keon Broxton and Jose Miranda solo shots.
The Saints scored three runs in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead and three runs in the seventh to tie the score at 7-all. In the seventh, Broxton and Miranda hit back-to-back and, one batter later, Rooker went deep.
Rooker now leads the Triple-A East with 18 homers this season.
Columbus hit three homers.
With their second victory in a row over the Clippers, the Saints (30-31) moved within one game of .500 in the Midwest Division.
DH Mitch Garver and third baseman Willians Astudillo, who have been on the Twins roster most of this season, were both 1-for-4 for the Saints.
Nick Vincent, the fourth Saints pitcher, got the victory.
He gave up one run on three hits the final two innings.
