A shooting Friday night in south Minneapolis left one man dead and two others wounded, police said.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. near Lake Street and Park Avenue, where officers found a man with life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.
"Officers provided medical aid until EMS arrived," police said in news release Saturday. The man was taken to HCMC where he was later pronounced dead.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner was expected to release the man's name and cause of death in coming days.
No arrests had been made as of Saturday afternoon.
Police said two men wounded in the shooting went to separate hospitals Friday night — one to Abbott Northwestern Hospital and the other to HCMC. Both had noncritical wounds.
Police said they believe the shooting erupted moments after a group of people had gather at the site and begun arguing.
Anyone with information about the crime was asked to contact the Minneapolis police or CrimeStoppers of Minnesota at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
