For International Women's Day, 89.3 The Current will be playing "nothing but music fronted by musicians who identify as women," the radio station said.
From midnight to midnight March 8, The Current, owned by Minnesota Public Radio, will play music from female artists that include: Patsy Cline, Patti Smith, PaviElle, Laura Marling, Lauryn Hill, Sleater-Kinney, Sharon Jones, St. Vincent, Feist, Fiona Apple, Kate Bush, Kate Nash, Björk and Billie Holiday.
Special features will include Dessa speaking about her new album "Chime" at noon, and First Aid Kit in concert at the Palace Theatre (recorded Jan. 30, 2018) at 8 p.m.
