Several brief, EF0 tornadoes touched down in Dakota and Ramsey counties Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen.
And a trained weather spotter confirmed a tornado on the ground west of Prinsburg in south-central Minnesota on Sunday night, MPR reported, the second night of severe storms moving across the state.
The NWS issued a tornado watch Sunday for an area across central Minnesota stretching from the South Dakota border through the Twin Cities. That watch is in effect until midnight. It also issued a warning for an area including Prinsburg, Svea and Blomkest, which expired at 8:45 p.m.
The damage from Saturday's twisters was mostly from trees falling on structures. Winds ranged from 75 to 85 miles per hour.
The storm started in Dakota County before crossing into Ramsey County, according to the National Weather Service. Four tornadoes were spotted across Dakota County, touching down in Burnsville, Apple Valley, Eagan and West St. Paul.
In Ramsey County, the tornado path went for more than 3 miles.
The State Fair had some flooding due to the storms, with more than an inch of rain in some areas.
