After more than two-and-a-half years tracking COVID-19 cases, testing, hospitalizations, deaths and vaccinations in Minnesota, the Star Tribune has decided to cease updating this page.
Broader coverage of the pandemic's ongoing toll in Minnesota will continue, however, and will include data visualizations both online and in print as needed.
This report chronicles cases and deaths in Minnesota from COVID-19, the infectious disease caused by the novel coronavirus, and tracks the progress in vaccinating state residents.
Hundreds of thousands of cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Minnesota since the first confirmed case was reported March 6, 2020 in Ramsey County, and thousands of Minnesotans have died. These figures should not be considered a full count of cases in Minnesota as health officials say they believe not all cases are reported.
