The first region Most Outstanding Player from a losing team since Davidson's Steph Curry in 2008, Edwards hit 10 three-pointers and scored 42 points, giving him the most points (139) through four NCAA tourney games since 2000.

Turning Point

Purdue led by three and fouled Ty Jerome with 5.9 seconds left. Jerome made the first free throw and missed the second, but Virginia's Kihei Clark gathered the rebound and found Mamadi Diakite near the edge of the paint. Diakite got off a short jumper before time expired and sank it to tie the score, his only points of the second half.
