Preview: The Wild begins a new era with a new (interim) coach in John Torchetti, who has been charged with breathing life into a team that has lost eight in a row overall (0-6-2), eight in a row at home (0-5-3) and 13 times in the past 14 games (1-10-3). Vancouver's two-game winning streak ended Saturday with a 5-2 home loss to Toronto. The Canucks have won only three times in the past nine games (3-4-2).

Players to watch: Wild LW Thomas Vanek has a three-game point streak (one goal, three assists). C Mikael Granlund has a goal and two assists in his past five games. D Mike Reilly scored his first NHL goal vs. Boston in Saturday's 4-2 loss. C Mikko Koivu leads the Wild with six points vs. the Canucks this season. … As always, it is the Sedin brothers who need watching. LW Daniel Sedin leads the Canucks in goals (22) and points (45), and Henrik Sedin, his center, has nine goals and 30 assists. Henrik has 65 points in 79 games vs. the Wild, and his 53 assists are the most against Minnesota by a Wild opponent.

Numbers: The Wild is 7-3 vs. the Canucks in the past 10 games between the two teams and is 3-1 in its past four games in Vancouver.

Injuries: Wild D Jared Spurgeon (bruised leg) is questionable. D Jonas Brodin (broken foot) is out. Vancouver D Alexander Edler (fractured fibula) and C Brandon Sutter (fractured jaw) are out.
