A 31-year-old woman has died of injuries suffered in a head-on collision Saturday night in north Minneapolis, police said.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office identified her as Victoria Eileen Harwell of Minneapolis.
Police said the crash occurred after 10 p.m. when a Dodge Journey crossed the center line of Lowry Avenue N. at James Avenue N. and struck Harwell's Dodge Durango traveling in the opposite direction.
Harwell and her 14-year-old female passenger were taken to North Memorial hospital, where Harwell died. A second female passenger did not talk to police.
The driver of the Journey, German Adriano Llangari Inga, 34, was evaluated for minor injuries at North Memorial and later booked into the Hennepin County jail on suspicion of driving while impaired and criminal vehicular homicide, police said.
A passenger in the Durango is believed to have assaulted Inga after the crash, police said.
The incident remained under investigation Sunday.
