Vancleave joined the Star Tribune in 2013 and graduated from the University of Minnesota, where he now teaches photojournalism. His award-winning work includes investigations into abuses in Minnesota's elder care system, working conditions for people with disabilities, access to medical marijuana and immigrant experiences. Despite being a life-long Minneapolitan, Vancleave enjoys exploring Minnesota's rural gems and escaping to our state's natural wonders.

Ka Vang is a writer, playwright and children's book author. She is the vice president of equity, inclusion, diversity and access for Meet Minneapolis, the tourism, convention and visitors' bureau for the city of Minneapolis. She has also worked in higher education, as a journalist for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, and as a senior leader for Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media. A Hmong American, she was born on a CIA military base in Laos at the end of the Vietnam War and immigrated to the U.S. in 1980. Vondracek has reported on prairie dog lawsuits in the Black Hills to federal education policy in Washington D.C. A native of Faribault County, Minnesota, he's a graduate of the University of South Dakota, holds an MFA from Hamline University, and taught college English for many years in Winona and St. Paul. His debut collection of poetry, Rattlesnake Summer, was published in 2020, and his memoir, Dancing with Welk, in 2022. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Carrie, and daughter, Rosie.
