Bonneville, Barbara Joy Nov. 28, 1940 - Sept. 3, 2024 Barbara Joy Bonneville (Barb), passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024. She was born November 28, 1940, in Kansas City Missouri to Joy and Marie Reuter. She is survived by her husband of sixty years James (Jim) Bonneville and her sister Kathy (Tom) Kime. Family members include sisters-in-law Barb O'Brien (Dan), Mary Lou Bonneville and nieces, Casey, Krista, Shannon, Karie, Betsy, Melissa, nephew Michael (Beth) and numerous great nieces and nephews. Family members that preceded Barb were her parents, sister-in-law Janice Bonneville and brother-in-law Bill Bonneville. Barb grew up In Minneapolis, graduating from Washburn High School, class of 1958. She attended The University of Minnesota where she met Jim in a Psychology class. She then transferred St. Cloud State University to follow Jim and in 1963 was awarded a BS degree in teaching. While in school, Barb worked at the Dayton's Department Store Oval room and learned a great deal about fashion. She enjoyed shopping and always wanted to look her best and she did. Barb taught in the Minneapolis school system for thirty years and became a mentor to many at Hale Elementary School. Barb and Jim welcomed Janice- one of her students- to their home and she became a lifelong member of their family. Barb loved her extended family and was mentor to many nieces and enjoyed their personal growth. She was blessed with many lifelong friends- loved them all. She enjoyed travel with numerous trips to Europe, Mexico, Israel, Alaska, western US and a special trip to Japan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Barb had a special interest in Laos due to the positive influence and growth of Laotian (Hmong) people in the Twin Cities. She spent many years as a snowbird visiting southwest Florida and gaining many friends during that time. Barb supported charities such as the Serria Club, Audubon Society, PBS, Arboretum and others. Barb's faith was of Hope and Joy for all People. She was an amazing wife, best friend, partner, advisor, trip planner and friend to many and will be missed. A service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis on Thursday October 10 at 11:00. 1200 Marquette Ave. (612-332-3421). Visitation at 10:00. A livestream will be available (go to westminstermpls.online.church) for viewing. The parking entrance is 95-99 Alice Rainville Place between Nicollet Mall and Marquette Avenue.
