Vogl, Frank 81, of Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024. Frank was raised in Dyersville, Iowa and attended St. Francis Xavier High School and then Loras College, where he played on the varsity golf team and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Frank attended law school at Georgetown University Law Center, graduating in 1968. He remained in Washington, D.C. working as an attorney with the National Labor Relations Board working on federal appellate cases. While in. D.C., Frank served in the Army Reserves from 1969 to 1974, based in college Park MD. He later joined Best & Flanagan in Minneapolis, where he practiced for over 30 years, eventually leading the firm's labor and employment law group and being recognized by clients, opponents, and judges as one of the finest practitioners in the Twin Cities. Frank was beloved by his law partners and colleagues. One of his law partners remembered him as "a model of how decency, kindness and intellect can be a part of the legal profession." In Minneapolis, Frank met his wife, Julie, whom he married in 1981. Together they had two children, James and Christina. Family was the center of Frank's life. He was a devoted husband and father, coaching sports and spending summer weekends at their family cabin in Wisconsin. A natural mentor and advocate, Frank was a great listener who inspired his children to value education, to have a strong work ethic, and to explore the world through travel. After his retirement, Frank golfed, read, traveled, volunteered, and welcomed four grandchildren into the world. His friends and family will remember his genuine kindness, his generosity of time and spirit, his beautiful sense of humor and his contagious laughter. Frank is survived by his loving family: wife Julie, son James, daughter-in-law Cate, daughter Christina, son-in-law Kavi, grandchildren, brother Joe Vogl, and sister Lynn Bowe. Many thanks to Frank's neighbors, friends, and family for their loving support and the staff at Amira Choice of Bloomington and Allina Hospice for their compassionate care. A memorial service will take place on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm at The Woman's Club of Minneapolis; 410 Oak Grove Street, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55403.
