Don Edward Schroeder, Sr.

Mark Schuman

Schuman, Mark Mark Schuman, age 64, of Little Chute, WI passed away with his loving wife Amy at his side on October 9th after a year- long battle with leukemia. Mark was born on January 15, 1960, in Kohler, WI to Glen and Julie Schuman. Mark received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and his law degree from the University of WI, Madison. Most of Mark's professional life was spent in Minneapolis. He represented some of the biggest companies in the pharma world. His work involved breaking patents on formulary drugs in order for his clients to introduce generics to the market. Mark worked for Merchant & Gould where he not only practiced law, but also mentored many young aspiring attorneys. Mark's mentor, Alan Carlson, left Merchant & Gould to start another law firm. In Alan's words, "we were eager to have Mark and the other members of his pharma team join the firm, and we changed the name to Carlson, Caspers, Vandenburgh, Lindquist and Schuman to reflect Mark's importance to the firm." Mark and Amy met through EHarmony in June 2009. After dating long distance for three years, Amy left her job in Appleton, WI and moved to Minneapolis (March 2012). Mark and Amy enjoyed the Twin Citieswalking, biking, so many great friends and some treasured family too. Besides Minneapolis, Mark and Amy enjoyed their home in Door County, WI. When Mark retired in 2018, he and Amy sold the home in Minneapolis and established a residence in Clearwater, FL. Mark and Amy enjoyed traveling and saw so many beautiful places throughout the world. One trip was especially memorable. On November 11, 2011 (11-11-11), Mark proposed to Amy at the Trevi Fountain in Rome. Many trips to Rome would follow. Some other favorite trips included Burning Man in Black Rock City, NV, March in Valencia Spain, Norway (Northern Lights and Edvard Munch's "The Scream") and Thailand. Mark also enjoyed sailing and glass-blowing. In addition to Amy, Mark is survived by Amy's sons: Taylor DeBruin and Connor (Kalyn) DeBruin; and grandson, Jonah; his mother, Julie Schuman; brother, Paul; and brother, John (Miriam) and their children: Julia and Christian. He will also be greatly missed by Amy's siblings and their families: Pat (Peter) Litersky and their children, Claire (Brianna) Savoie; Pete (Sara) Litersky and their children: Max, Morgan, and Chase; Debbie (friend, Joe Vanden Elsen) and the late Steve Hartjes and their children, Mike (Jessie) and their children Macy, Callahan, and Hamilton; Nikki (Dylan) Esterling and their children, Natalie Campbell and Nathan; Rachel (Joe) Cabelka and their children, Lucas, Charlotte, and Nolan; Tim (Joanie) Hartjes and their children, Danielle (Rudy) Botz and their children, Laken and Rory; Brooke, Jesse, and Karly; Greg (Karen) Hartjes and their children, Madelyn, Eli and Owen; Gary Hartjes and his children, Preston and Alex; Beth (Steve) McAuley and their children, Sean, Tony, and Noah. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Glen Schuman; former wife, Mary Schuman; father and mother- in-law, James "Cobby" and Grace Hartjes; and brother-in-law, Steve Hartjes. A Memorial Service will be held for Mark on Thursday, October 24th, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. at Verkuilen- Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, WI 54140. Scott, Carole C. 92, Sauk Centre passed away October 6, 2024. Memorial Service for Carole and her husband, Donald, who died on August 21, 2024 and donated his body to the University of Minnesota, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 28 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with visitation 1 hour prior. William Fred 'Billy' Smith

Smith, William "Billy" Fred Age 72, passed away October 3rd, 2024. Preceded in death by his father, John R Smith, and sister in-law Karon Smith. Billy was a realtor and developer; owned and operated Business Centers Inc. in Saint Louis Park, MN. He, along with his brother and father developed many industrial properties in Saint Louis Park, and Eden Prairie, along with a commercial center in the Turks & Caicos Islands. His focus was "small space for small businesses." Billy helped many businesses succeed. His children strive to carry on the great business and culture he started. He devoted over a decade of his life creating Minnesota Wines and starting Warehouse Winery; the first inter-city winery in Minnesota. He and his mother, Irene, spent many hours tending to the vines he planted in Wayzata. He loved entertaining guests at the winery and trade shows, harkening back to the days he worked on the Royal American Shows carnival with his brother as kids. Billy attended Minnetonka High School and University of Arizona, where he worked towards a degree in architecture. Billy was an artist at heart, mastering pottery, photography and sculpting. He loved to travel and deep sea fish and owned a number of fishing boats over the years. He, along with his friends and sons, drove the boats from Florida to the Turks & Caicos islands many times. Billy loved downhill skiing, taking many trips to the Rockies and to Lutsen. He loved motorcycle touring and dirt bike riding with family and friends, and had many fond memories of staying at Nemo Ranch during the Sturgis bike rally. Billy always said his greatest accomplishment of his life was his sons. He will be loved and missed by his Mother, Irene Smith, Brother, John T. Smith, and sons; Harrison and Parker (Jaimie) Smith; grandchildren, Archer, Indy and Otto Smith; many loving other relatives and friends. Charles Steven Snyder

Snyder, Charles Steven age 73, died peacefully on 10-8-2024. Chuck is the 2nd son of parents Al & Betty and is preceded in death by his parents and brother Mike. Born November 28, 1951 in Long Prairie MN, his childhood was spent on the farm in LP, moving to Duluth, Hastings and then Excelsior. Chuck was a Minnetonka High School graduate when he enrolled at Control Data Institute and was quickly recruited by Wang Labs of Chicago Illinois as a computer engineer. Chuck advanced to multi-state manager based in Hopkins MN and continued there for 19 years until the company dissolved. Chuck joined SouthWest Transit Agency as an operations manager during its rise from a small rural transit agency to SWTA being named "Transit Agency of the Year" by the American Public Transit Association in 2004. Chuck retired to pursue his dream of sailing and moved to South Pasadena Florida and lived aboard his 36ft Tyana sailboat, "Lobo". Chuck was a fan of the warm weather, became harbor master, and developed many lasting friendships. In 2020, he returned to MN to be nearer family & live quietly in Chanhassen. Chuck is survived by brothers Greg (Gail), Henry (Eileen), Marvin (Sheila), Doug (Maria), Fred, sister Mary (Glenn), sister-in-law Sylvia, and many nephews, nieces, and family.
