Baker joined the Star Tribune in June 2024. He previously spent eight years covering Rochester for Med City Beat, an independent news website he founded at the age of 25. Prior to moving to Southeast Minnesota, Baker worked as a news producer for WBAY-TV in Green Bay, Wis. Baker also served as news editor for the Fourth Estate, the student paper of UW-Green Bay, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Baker lives in Rochester with his wife, Sarah, and their two boys.

David Banks has been involved with various aspects of the opinion pages and their online counterparts since 2005. Before that, he was primarily involved with the editing and production of local coverage. He joined the Star Tribune in 1994.
Dan Barnes

Dan Barnes is responsible for technology planning and support for the newsroom's reporters, photographers, artists, editors and designers and for the analogous members of the Opinion staff, which is separate from the News staff. He holds a BA degree in photojournalism from the University of Minnesota. Previous employers include The Miami Herald and the Minnesota Daily. Dan has lived in Minnesota, Montana, Maryland and Florida. He was one of America's first editors of news published online. Dan comes from a long line of teachers, preachers and dairy farmers.

Jenny Berg has spent the last decade covering central Minnesota news for various publications, including the Litchfield Independent Review — where she was named Minnesota Newspaper Association's New Journalist of the Year for weeklies — and the St. Cloud Times. She studied journalism and political science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Outside of work, she spends much of her time with her dogs, Juniper and August.
